WARRIOR'S RETREAT

Upon transitioning from military service, many veterans find themselves in a transitional phase. While no longer serving in the armed forces, they may struggle to integrate into civilian life. The adjustment can be challenging, as veterans often face a significant gap in understanding and experience compared to their civilian counterparts. This disconnect can lead to feelings of isolation and a sense of being adrift.

Statistics indicate that many veterans grapple with mental health challenges, including suicidal thoughts. The transition from camaraderie and shared experiences within the military to the isolation of civilian life can be overwhelming. Historically, various cultures have established rituals to welcome returning soldiers back from war, typically led by elders who have also experienced combat. These rituals recognize the potential negative impact of premature reintegration and the importance of providing a supportive and welcoming environment for veterans and their families.
